I live with my sister, my mother, and my step-father. We all came to the U.S. 2 years ago. We came from Moldova. The reason why we came here was because my mom and my step-dad met on the internet and fell in love. So they married when we moved to the United States. Now we are one of the happiest families on Earth!
I feel like I have many accomplishments - coming to America, adopting the culture, and learning the language. I have participated in the following piano competitions: International “George Georgescu” competition held in Romania where I got the 3rd place; International “Carl Filtsch” competition held in Romania and Germany where I got 2nd place; National “Carl Czerny” competition held in Romania where I got 3rd place; National piano competition held in Moldova where I got 3rd place; National “S.Y.M.F” competition held in California, where I got 3rd place; State “Long Beach Mozart Festival” held in California, where I got 3rd place; and Buckeye competition held in Ohio, where I got honorable mention. Just recently I won the 2008 Buckeye competition and I'm going to State competition in June.
I almost got the black belt in taekwandoo but I had to quit 2 weeks before the exam because I had an international piano competition.
I speak 3 different languages fluently: Russian, Romanian, and English - and I'm currently learning a 4th.
Hobbies
I love playing chess, tennis, and soccer. I also love biking, traveling, studying astronomy, singing, acting, cooking, and going out into the nature.
My favorite food is Milina-Bulgarian pie that can be filled with cheese, cabbage, potatoes, apples, cherries, or pumpkin. It is delicious!
I don't have a favorite TV show because I like watching movies rather than watching shows.
Goals
Getting into the National Honors Society; getting into the top 20% in my class; getting into Julliard; composing songs and maybe getting famous; and most importantly doing something great that would make the world a better place to live in.

Question of the Month
Why do you feel studying a musical instrument is a good thing?
Studying an instrument is a good thing because it develops one's emotions and ways of thinking.
Also, studying music develops the mentality of a person. By saying mentality I mean: memory, fantasy, knowledge, comprehension, organization, focus, etc. It is also proven that people who play an instrument do better in mathematics. Finally, playing an instrument is a pleasure.
Favorite Songs to Play
